Glulam Manufacturer To Celebrate 50 Years With Open House
Unadilla, NY (October 2, 2013) On October 22, 2013, Unadilla Laminated Products, of Unadilla and Sidney, NY, will celebrate 50 years of manufacturing glulam with an open house at their Sidney, NY manufacturing facility. That day the company will also unveil their updated brand at that facility.
“In 1963, my father and grandfather expanded our plant to Sidney support our growing glulam business,” reminisces Craig Van Cott, CEO. “Over the last 50 years, that business has grown into our main product and on October 22 I am excited to say we will be refreshing our brand to be more consistent with this product line. Longtime customers can still count on the same high quality of our products and services. And, our new brand will allow us to better communicate what we do to prospective customers in the building industry.”
To launch the new brand and celebrate 50 years of glulam, Unadilla Laminated Products will be giving plant tours during an open house at their 100 West Road, Sidney, NY manufacturing facility from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. About Unadilla Laminated Products – In 1892, the Van Cott family began selling lumber in Unadilla, NY and in 1906 made the first Unadilla silo, beginning a product line that would serve farmers until the 1980s. The company incorporated as the Unadilla Silo Company, Inc. in 1909.
To further its commitment to farmers, the Unadilla Silo Company experimented with glue laminated (glulam) barn rafters in 1928. By 1963, this business had picked up steam and the Unadilla Laminated Products division expanded into a new facility in nearby Sidney, NY where glulam production continues today.
